Carpentersville voters, especially those who don’t keep up with what happens in Village government from month to month, need to be aware of what has been going on. The following postings highlight various acts of corruption, violations of ordinances and of law and other appearances of impropriety by members of Village government. You are encouraged to look at this information and follow the evidence presented that backs up the actions and conclusions drawn from those facts.
Carpentersville has been held hostage for much too long by those who would serve themselves rather than the people. That is the reason this information is provided to voters as information in your voting decisions.

When pulling up the website, their is an error which “pushes” down all of your information from the right to the very bottom.

Can you let me know which browser and version you are using? I have checked in in both Firefox 2 and IE 7, and both appear ok?

I’m having the same problem, I’m using IE 6 on a 22″ widescreen monitor. I’m also getting what appears to be an undefined object/variable Javascript error message:
Line: 378
Char: 24
Error: ‘Delicious’ is undefined
Code: 0
Everything loads up fine under Firefox though. I don’t have IE 7 installed on this PC so I can’t test that browser.

I’ve checked a whole range of browsers, and found that IE 6 is one of the few that has issues with the sidebar not showing up properly.
I don’t suppose you have the option of upgrading to the latest IE browser … or installing Firefox?

Sorry, Art, your comment got sent to the SPAM queue by the software….
Thanks for the info … I think I found the problem.
I’m taking another look now.
UPDATE: I’m not sure whether it is fixed now or not. Could someone who has IE 6 verify?

The side bar still pushes down on the right side…this was not always the case, however. Just the past few weeks.

I’m not sure why this is. Of all the different browsers and versions out there, Internet Explorer version 6 is the only one that seems to have the problem.

Chrysippus, the issue is still happening with IE 6. I’m wondering if it’s a cascading style sheet bug within IE 6 and it can’t interpret some styles properly, probably those attached to the unordered list that breaks down the layout of the page. I don’t think it’s a big deal anyway. Also, I’d like to apologize, I just realized over the weekend that I had received a message from you a while ago, but I don’t check that email account very often (as in maybe once a month) since it’s my “spam” account, but will get back to you as soon as I get a chance. Have a good day.

Art,
I thought it was probably something with the style sheet that IE6 didn’t like. When I searched for what it could be, I found that IE6 had a number of issues. I was able to test the site on several different browsers at the same time, on multiple operating systems (thanks to a website I found that does that automatically), and saw that IE6 was the only one having such problems. IE5, IE7, Firefox, Safari, and Opera on Windows and Mac all seem to work fine.
Because I am using the default (free) setup from WordPress, I don’t have the option to edit the CSS.
I apologize because I know that some people don’t have the option to upgrade their browsers to the latest versions … because they might be at work or school or library.

The issue with the sidebar pushing to the bottom of the page on IE6 should now be resolved. It seemed that the “Tag Cloud” was causing some issues, so I removed it.
